Meet our employees
Somas is an amazing company in the small town of Säffle. Which in turn means that a small part of the town is represented in (almost) the entire world.
describe your role at somas
I work as an actuator-assembler. I receive a manufacturing order, and based on that I collect all the included components from our stock. Afterwards it’s a matter of preparing as much as possible before assembling the actuator. As a actuator-assembler you are also responsible for things such as spring-packages, fitting bushings into linking-arms etc. There is a total of six assemblers working in my department. four girls and two guys.
I also take care of some new employees, interns and summertime-workers by instructing and teaching them about my work. I have the benefit of helping my supervisor to print the different orders for our department and the orders intended for Jörgen in the painting-department. I really like being a part of that kind of work.
what is the best part of your job?
Since there are many varying steps that need to be completed during assembly the work does not become monotonous, which is positive for me. The opportunity to help my supervisors and gain insight into the whole chain of assembly works is also very fun. I think it’s great that we utilize “flex-time” for work-hours and off course I can’t forget to mention all my great colleagues.
how did you come to work at somas?
I worked at the booking office for a bus company but was laid off when the company was sold. Then I chose to attend a course to become a CNC operator and started out as a trainee at Somas. Once my time as a trainee had come to an end they reached out and asked if I wanted to come work for them full time but as a actuator assembler instead. I was thrilled and took the offer on the spot!
how do you view somas as a company?
Somas is an amazing company in the small town of Säffle. Which in turn means that a small part of the town is represented in (almost) the entire world. It’s a safe and secure place to work, and everyone here is really nice.
