Somas offers a number of valves that can be used as on/off valves. An on/off valve shuts off the flow and is tight in the flow direction. It also offers low resistance in the open position. Somas’ on/off valves are usually equipped with a pneumatic piston actuator that can be either single acting or double acting.
On/off valve as shut-off valve
Several valves can be used as on/off valves. Somas’ full bore SKV ball valve offers very low resistance when open and excellent tightness in both flow directions. Somas’ butterfly valve offers a maintenance-free design with superior tightness in the closed position. Its small size and a competitive price are other advantages. Somas’ ball segment valve, which is primarily intended as a control valve, can also function as an on/off valve. With its open bore and generous price, it is also an attractive option as an on/off valve.
