Paper machines

Somas has been manufacturing valves since the mid-1950s. Back then, the sole focus was on valves and other equipment for the pulp and paper industry. This industry and our cooperation with our customers have been extremely important for Somas and have largely shaped the traditional valve range, which is renowned for the use of acid-proof stainless steel for components that come into contact with various media.

Paper machines have an almost endless need for high-performance Somas valves. They are used for flow control of liquids with or without fibre content at the machine’s wet end, where the sheet is shaped and water that has been pressed out is removed, as well as for steam flows to the machine’s drying section. Somas offers seat solutions that can be used throughout the entire paper machine. There are several other key functions around a paper mill where Somas’ valves can provide solutions, including drain control and water supply.
