How did you come to work at Somas?
After living and working in Karlstad for many years I moved back to Säffle, eventually got tired of the commute and applied for a job here. Somas has always been “the company of Säffle”, so it felt like a natural place to go.
How long have you worked here, what makes you stay?
I started in 2023, initially working with spare parts. After a while I moved on to actuator assembly since I wanted to do more practical work. What keeps me around is the comradery with my colleagues and the fact I enjoy the job as much as I do.
What’s a good day at work like for you?
A good day for me is when everything just rolls along, when the tempo is just right and you’re focused, the days tend to pass by almost too quickly.
Which part of your job are you the proudest of?
Getting to be a part of a business that delivers quality products all over the world. It makes you want to do your best every step of the way.
What’s the trickiest part of your job?
Troubleshooting can be tricky when the cause isn’t obvious. But it’s fun too, you don’t quit until you find the solution.
What’s something you think a lot of people misunderstand about your job?
That it’s repetitive and boring. It requires problem solving and practical work, every day is different.
What makes you enjoy working with your team?
We have a good mix of different people, the general mood is always good, and we laugh a lot together, we support each other. You can tell the people in charge care about us and want to ensure we have the best working conditions possible.
What’s the most important thing to assemble a good quality product?
Being thorough. Every part needs to fit together correctly from beginning to end, it’s better to double check everything rather than rushing. You can be both thorough and efficient.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I spend a lot of time with my kids and grandkids. I like spending time in nature and doing yoga.
