How did you come to work at Somas?
I sent in an open application when I felt my previous job had run its course. I had heard a lot of good things about Somas, mainly from my mom who also works here. It felt like the right decision to apply.
How long have you worked here, what makes you stay?
I started at Somas in 2020, initially employed as an actuator assembler, moved on to final assembly and was offered something completely new in our Service department, Technical Assistance. What keeps me sticking around is the fact I’m always developing and get to tackle new challenges.
What’s a good day at work like for you?
A good day for me is when I get to work practically and solve problems. One day I’m in the workshop working on valves and learning more about them and control systems, the next I’m on-site with a customer finding solutions together with them. It’s the variety that makes my days great.
Which part of your job are you the proudest of?
Somas has given me the opportunity to grow from an assembler all the way to Technical Assistance, I get to represent the company on-site with our customers, which is something I always take seriously. I strive to excel in every aspect of my job
What’s the trickiest part of your job?
When you can’t find the root cause of a problem, while the customer is expecting a solution. You need to think on your feet, ask for help and keep working until you figure it out. Everything works out in the end.
What’s something you think a lot of people misunderstand about your job?
A lot of people think you get to live a luxury life while getting to see the world, staying at fancy hotels and eating at expensive restaurants. When in fact it involves a lot of long trips with intense workdays and quick adjustments. Trips can get planned on short notice and the days can get long. If you would ask me to change it, not a chance!
What makes you enjoy working with your team?
Always having someone to trust and that we help each other. We share our knowledge which makes the work both easier and more fun.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I work out, both in the gym and running, I ran the Stockholm half-marathon with a colleague! I recently started golfing too. Competitiveness is constant, whether it’s at work or on the starting line.

Who I am: I grew up with Somas as a constant, my mom works here. Now I do too, having worked my way from assembly all the way to Technical Assistance. In my spare time you’ll find me at the gym, at the running track or the golf course. Team spirit doesn’t stop when the work does.
